CVPG enters GT4 racing with Mercedes AMG
Expansion of young talent work from kart to sports car
The CV Performance Group is expanding its range in 2021 and is entering sports car racing with two Mercedes AMG GT4s. In doing so, the team is consistently continuing its work with young drivers and accompanying their drivers as they take the next step in their careers.
"We founded the Mercedes AMG Customer Racing Junior Kart Team by CV Performance Group in 2020 and thus support talented drivers with extensive funding at an early stage. With the establishment of the GT4 team, we now offer everything from a single source and can accompany our drivers from karting into GT racing," explains team boss Christian Voß.
As in karting, the CV Performance Group also enjoys the support of strong partners in GT racing.
"It is a great advantage for us to have such strong partners at our side. We are launching a junior program as the Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing Team and can draw on a wide range of support services from the Mercedes-AMG customer sports program. We are currently designing the entire team and will bring a competitive squad to the starting line," continues Voß.
The championship in which the team from Niederzissen will compete has not yet been decided. "In the background, we are currently working on our program. There are two platforms in Germany in which you can start with a GT4. We are still in the planning stages and will announce our race program in a few weeks. However, the Finn Matias Salonen has already been confirmed as the first driver; he comes from our junior program and is now being developed further," concludes the former racing driver.
